I was very happy when my mom said a few minutes ago that she can’t do this lying down “stuff” anymore. She is sitting outside with my dad right now just reading the paper. I know this may seem ridiculous to even comment on but she WANTED to get up. I haven’t seen that in about a week. It is so hard when you want her to get up but God she is so frustrated between feeling weak all of the time and getting sick to her stomach… I am glad that she chose to push herself a little today.

I just bought Donna’s book online. I can’t wait for it to come!Cancer, Chemo and Beyond – Survivors and Their Unique Journeys

Today was an ok day… Better than a bad day.

Hi,
I read your previous blog asking for any recomendations on something to increase your mom’s appetite. My boyfriend is taking something called “Majesterol” ( I have no idea if that is spelled correctly or not). It is by prescription, a liquid…rather nasty tasting…but it certainly has worked for him! He had lost close to 50 pounds and now eats heartily and has gained a few pounds. It is defintely worth a shot!
Take care!

It’s one step at a time and getting out side and just doing normal things is a big deal….

Dear Naunie; The wedding shots are beautiful. I’m sure you have had several people tell you, you look like Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) villan. Exactly. Anyway sorry to hear about your Mom not feeling up to it. I am guessing she is going through chemo? IF so this is to be expected. I can’t imagine why her Dr or Dr’s have not perscribed something for the nausea. That is always the first form of defense. Kick butt and start screaming that is the only language these Dr.’s understand. They are so bogged down on overload, each patient sounds like the next so until you snap them out of it you might just get looked over as far as pain meds are concerned. It always amazes me on this site how many people have had to do the extra kick ass thing to get results. I hope you do the same. Weezie

Thank you. No I have never heard that about Eva. Wow. Thanks. Thank you all for your thoughts. She has tried that appetite med and hates it. I tried to push it again today… Her doctor is great. She goes back tomorrow. Her nausea meds work but it is almost like she has no desire to eat. We just had pizza together so I guess that is good! I am off for the summer and loving being with her every moment I can!
