Well... It has been a while.Views: 509

So I do not really have a reason why I haven’t written. I think I just couldn’t for a while…... WEll I will begin with the good news. My wedding in April was AMAZING! My mom was the last one to leave the reception. I walked down the aisle with my dad and shined because I could see her smile shining at me all the way down. I can’t even explain how thankful I am. It was a gift to have such a special day be an absolute miracle that I will always be grateful for.

Since then things had been ok… But then three weeks ago my mom was in severe severe pain and we rushed her to the hospital. She had to have an emergency colostomy (sorry if I am spelling it wrong). Emotionally it has been so difficult as well as physically of course for her. She goes back to the oncologist on Tuesday to discuss further treatment. I sit here and think/cry why do I want so much for her to have chemo when it is bringing her down so much. I am so torn. She is so fragile and has lost so much weight. I just don’t know what is right anymore. I love her so much and want the best for her. She is the strongest out of all of us which is so unbelievable.

One thing that the visiting nurse keeps saying is that she must gain weight. To be honest, she doesnt want to eat. She eats here and there and we push her but… Does anyone have any suggestions? We try to get her to eat but sometimes I just can’t. She drinks Boost and Ensure and always eats dinner but during the day…. it is really tough.

My brother and sister in law are due with their second baby in three weeks so we are trying to focus on the happy things but to be honest the tough stuff just keeps on creeping in!

So sorry your mother is not doing well. I stated my 3 round of chemo last week and I know how your mother feels. I found something unconventional that might help First do you have Cancer treatment centers of America around you or you could look them up. I called them and they gave me great advice. Unfortunately my ins. would no cover my treatment with them. But they treat the whole person with conventional and non conventional way..It might be worth looking into.

Now one of the things I am doing is getting Acupuncture treatments and it helps with alot of thing especially the nausea you could look up on line to see if you have Community Acupuncture near you. They charge on a scale of what you can afford it has helped me out I hope this helps alittle

I definitely will look into it. Thank you. She is going to try some breathing exercises in her yoga dvd’s also which hopefully will help a little. Thanks!
